Agenda/Goals
Your success is our ultimate goal!
What do we want to accomplish in class to reach that goal?

First...always go back one blog spot and or day and ensure that you have completed all of the work that was required for that class period.  This will ensure that you are receiving the highest grade possible in this course.  In this situation, students were to have completed a student self assessment (our Rubric) and a Weekly Reflection.

Next...if you have not completed the work do so now or at home and submit.

All students, except Frank, were supposed to re-write the recap of our David Demers meeting.
We will now review all post and critique each one.
We will then chose one and submit it to to Mr. Demers and Principal McCarron for review. (30 minutes)

Next we will introduce the class to Photoshop (60 minutes)

Finally we will attempt to build a banner for Mr. Demer's website

Rookies and Veterans

Prospective client, David Demers, visited our classroom this Wednesday.  You did a great job at ascertaining what he wants in a web site and were able to transfer that information  into a preliminary site for him.  The following is a recap of the class activities that was produced by Frank Ventura.  Your assignment, along with performing your self assessment and reflections, is to re-write the paragraph and post it here.  We will take the "best" one and forward it to both Mr. Demers and Principal McCarron.

Today at YTE class the veterans were talking about building a website for David Demers called Celebrate Life. This website was easy to do it because thanks to the help of the veterans and Mr. Demers ideas, we made a prototype or came with an idea of the website and the way he wanted. Mr. Demers wanted a website that is simple and easy to understand. By the discussion we had with Mr. Demers and since we already have the ideas of how he wants the website, we are going to started building it soon. For this website we are going to use Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 and some help from Mr. T.

We will conduct a whole class activity today.  Mr. David Demers will be visiting our classroom.  Mr. Demers is asking us to assist him in creating a Senior Citizen type page.  I will attempt to “model” appropriate meeting and web site creation skills/strategies during our meeting.  Jonathan Guzman and Tuyen Nguyen will be creating the site for Mr. Demers.
Old Business:
Veterans:

Starting today I am going to ask that our veterans spend 30 minutes on strategies and 60 minutes building websites for our teaching staff.

Our goal will be to create a website for each of our staff members and continue to plan for the 5th Annual YTE Venture Project Celebration.

Today/tonight is MST Parent Night...please make sure your folks know about this!

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Veterans:
It appeared that all of you were engaged in thoughtful reflection of how we will bring our 5th Annual YTE Venture Project Celebration to a successful consummation!
Great work!

I did not receive any notes from your group.  I did, however, take a picture of the white board and posted it to our DROPBOX.com account in order that you can keep a record of your progress and that I can guide you through this process.
Please prepare some sort of documentation that I can bring to Principal McCarron to share with him our progress on the VPC.
Today I would expect people to be creating list and making phone calls AFTER they "role play" their assignments with the rest of us.
I will be checking in with you at the beginning of the class, during it and just before the end so we all know what we are expected to accomplish.

Please be advised that I have changed the seating arrangements to better reflect our demographics.  I have the Veterans in the back of the class next to our new white board.  The white board will be used to chart our progress.  Please check to ensure you are in the correct new seat...thank you.  The rookies were moved to the front of the classroom where I can better serve their needs.

Our veterans produced some very personal reflections this past Friday.  I want to foster your creative analysis and move forward with more thoughts and actions.  We do need, however, to have an exacting PLAN of ACTION to follow.  You have made a good start but we have more work in front of us.

What did you do to contribute to the success of our YTE Venture Project Celebration?

What can you do to improve the quality of our discussion and brainstorming sessions?

Here are the notes from our last class with my questions back to you
September 12, 2012
Room 200
YTE

The YTE veterans conducted their third meeting starting at 10:15 in the back of room 200.

Jonathan Guzman volunteered to take notes and to pass them along to our class secretary Elizabeth Topping. The following is a recap of our meeting:

* Ask Soucie or McCarthy if they will let us use their refrigerator. (Who will do this?) (Question from Mr. T): Jennifer, Noone will let us use a refrigerator.
  1. WHEN will this happen?
  2. How will you/we get the refrigerator to school and up to our classroom?
  3. Will we need permission?

* For the winter Aneisha is going to bring her hot chocolate machine so we could sell hot chocolate. (Where will you keep it? Who will make Hot Chocolate Where will the water and supplies come from This needs to be developed further)? (Question from Mr. T): Damaris Fernandez could get the same water bottles that they sell in school for $.42 per bottle, and the Arizona for $.50 per can. In Mr. T's room.

Jonathan mentioned that there might be a problem with selling hot chocolate here in the classroom.  I am going to suggest that we concentrate FIRST on secure water and a refrigerator and then possibly move on to Hot Chocolate.

* If we would of go to an appliance, we could offer them advertisement and in return for them to donate a refrigerator. (Is anyone working on this...if not why not. This needs to be developed further) (Question from Mr. T): The veterans are working on it, at this time.
We need to have a report on this...I can not tell Principal McCarron that the veterans are working on it without explaining to him the steps we have taken.
Respectfully submitted,
