 Agenda/Goals/Thoughts

Narrative:

Term 1 is “now in the books”.  It is time to reflect upon what we have accomplished and what we have yet to do. 

First…what are our Goals?

a)    The “culminating event” for YTE is our student run Venture Project Celebration

b)   Creation of teacher web pages

c)    Creation of web sites for nonprofit organizations

d)   Nurturing of rookies into web page design building

Second… what we have accomplished?

a)    The VPC is moving along but at a slow pace.  Some students have produced some very good enthusiastic work.  Others students have not produced any work. 

                     i.        We have sent out “Thank You” & “Save the Date” greeting cards to our food donation people

                    ii.        The Facility Form is completed and will be forwarded to our Head Master four (4) weeks prior to the event

                  iii.        An e-mail has been sent to our IT people thanking them for their past support and asking them to “Save the Date” for our upcoming VPC

                   iv.        Preliminary letters have been created that will go to the US Senate and to our State Senate requesting political citations

                    v.        A “Save the Date”  Publisher greeting card has been created for our Parents

                   vi.        A “Save the Date” Publisher greeting card has been created for our School Board

I will continue to break up the 90 minute block into 3 segments in order that students can complete their assignments.

b)   The creation of teacher pages is also slow with no completed projects as of yet.

c)    The creation of web sites for nonprofit organizations is non-existent.  Please allow me to remind you that part of your responsibility is to solicit organizations so you can build for them a website!

d)   The nurturing of our rookies is probably where we are doing our best.  I am pleased with the progress our rookies have made with their work.

Third…. what we have yet to do

a)    The VPC

                     i.        A “Thank you” and a “Save the Date”  Publisher greeting card needs to be created for our School Safety staff

                    ii.        A “Thank you” and a we hope that you will be able to donate to us once again needs to be sent to the LHS Alumni Association

                  iii.        A “Thank you” and a we hope that you will be able to donate to us once again needs to be sent to the BMF senior class

                   iv.        Follow-ups need to be made to our 200 Lawrence Companies

                    v.        We need nominations for our Master of Ceremony for the VPC

                   vi.        We need suggestions for judges for the competition

                 vii.        Preliminary letters need to be created that will go to our US Congress requesting a political citation

               viii.        Preliminary letters need to be created that will go to our State representative requesting a political citation

                  ix.        Preliminary letters need to be created that will go to our City Council requesting a political citation

                    x.        The “Save the Date”  Publisher greeting card that has been created for our Parents needs to have one font style and for it to be mailed

                  xi.        The “Save the Date”  Publisher greeting card that has been created for our School Board needs to have one font style and for it to be mailed

                 xii.        The “Save the Date”  Publisher greeting card that has been created for our Superintendent needs to have one font style, the language cleaned up and for it to be mailed

               xiii.        Thank you cards can be created for all participants, addressed and be ready to mail

                xiv.        I need volunteers to contact:

                                         i.    Taco Bell

                                        ii.    Dunkin Donuts

                                      iii.    Market Basket

                                       iv.    Donahue Brothers…this would be extra credit if accepted

b)   Teacher pages need to be completed and be ready to upload

c)    Students need to solicit clients so you can build a website for them

d)   Rookies should continue with the Agenda from Web 1 at http:mrtweb1.blogspot.com

Fourth…I would like you to please couple up with your 200 Lawrence Company partner and submit a Dream Weaver generated site using the David’s Website Layout.docx as your model.  You will find this document in our YTE Dropbox.com account.  The size of the page should be 1024 x 768
