 Agenda/Goals/Thoughts

Narrative:

After receiving feedback from the class via our weekly reflection I would like to suggest the following:

First…I will invite any and all students to my desk area to role play/model a typical 200 Lawrence Company phone conversation.  Please see the printed version below.  You may want to print this out.  (30 minutes)

Second… I would want our Veterans to be working on their “Teacher” website while our Rookies pursue the Agenda from Web Page Design 1 (30 minutes)

Third…I would like you to please couple up with your 200 Lawrence Company partner and submit a Dream Weaver generated site using the David’s Website Layout.docx as your model.  You will find this document in our YTE Dropbox.com account. Damaris and Charissa Please team up to work on this.  (30 minutes)

Role Playing/Model for a “cold” phone call to your companies:

Hi my name is_______________ and I am a student at the Math, Science and Technology High School which is part of the Lawrence High School campus.  I am calling on behalf of my Youth Tech Entrepreneur class.  We are students who build websites for any local nonprofit or altruistically based organization.  As part of the curriculum, I am being asked to contact Lawrence based companies.  I/we would like to know if you have a website, and if you do what the URL address is for your website. 

Scenario 1: Record the URL ________________________________

Then say:  It is one of the goals of our class to foster partnerships with our local businesses.  Could you direct me to the person in your company who might be able to assist me in initiating such a partnership? 

Record the information___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Scenario 2: If the company does not have a website ask the person on the phone who would be the appropriate person to speak with regarding the possibility of our class building a website for them.  Record all pertinent information such as the contact’s name, phone number and e-mail address.  Make sure you repeat the information back to the phone contact.  Inform the person that we will then contact that person to set up an appointment to see if we can build them a website.  Thank them for their time.
